ILL INSANITY!

so back in the spring i did an interview with DJ Rob Swift (http://www.djrobswift.com) for Mix Revolution. It was an awesome interview because he's an awesome chill PERSON. hopefully that interview will go up SOON on the website, pppssshhha i worked hard that day also interview Neil Armstrong, Mike Rizzo and Fat Fingaz. i still owe Complex an interview!! ANYWAYS.... back to Rob Swift.... he had his movie release and i missed the party because i was sick but magic happened that night.... which leads me to this post!

here's a lil bio on ILL INSANITY i got from Rob Swift's site:

What do DJs Rob Swift, Precision, and Total Eclipse have in common? The letter X... as in X-ecutioners! Now, a decade since the conception of the worlds most accomplished DJ crew, these three champions of an art called "Turntablism" are beginning a new chapter in their careers. Their emphasis is to start from scratch (pun intended) and break down all limitations . "We're training our minds to forget and abandon everything we've learned about DJing to this point" according to Rob Swift. Total Eclipse adds "when we get together to create routines, we start from nothing and see where the vibe in the room takes us." Precision caps it off by saying "the long hours we invest into practice usually leads to some real crazy routines." Thus, the inspiration to call the themselves ILL INSANITY. Rob Swift says, "ILL INSANITY is the ending and beginning of something that started 10 years ago." He goes on to further explain... "No matter what, people will always remember what the X-ecutioners contributed to Hip Hop. Therefore, comparing whatever we do now, as ILL INSANITY, to back then." But while acknowledging the connection they'll forever have to the legendary DJ group, they emphasize... "that was then and this is now... without change there's no progress." And it seems that's their number one goal. To find new and innovative ways to use the turntable as a musical instrument and help the art form of DJing/Turntablism evolve. Their live show consists of a group performance, individual turntable solos and all around party rocking. Three hours of non-stop turntable theatrics by 3 of the best DJs in the game.

goin out... again??

this entire summer i've been laying low... not goin out too much but i guess in august what seriously seems like the quickest month seems to be the most outing filled month! may be it's because the summer is about to end... may be because for the other month and change of the summer the time was used for resting... who knows either way.... brooklyn of all places is the distination tonight =)

part of the only reason i'm goin out tonight is because my boy complex is spinnin at both these joints.... now im just tryin to find out at what time he'll be where so i dont miss him hahahhaaa

so if you wanna go out tonight hell why not! it's wednesday the middle of the month.... whoa.... it's williamsburg and best of all it's free =)
